The following are the reasons for protesting : Because the P»lll authorises the Governor to impose on the Colony liabilities to the extent of nearly .£2,000,000 in excess of the amount already authorised by Parliament. Because in the Bill not sufficient data are supplied. Because the Bill does not reserve to Parliament constitutional control. Because the Bill empowers the Governor to pledge the credit of the Colony without any provision being made for it to moot its engagements Because the Bill had been hurried tli rough Parliament. Because no opportunity had been given to the people of the Colony to express an opinion on the subject. DUNEDIN. Thursday, Oct. 31. Boyd’s run, purchased last week by Tolmie, has been resold at a profit of £4,000. AUCKLAND. Thursday, Oct. 31. The first wool sale of the, season was held yesterday.
