The schooner Columbia, Capt. M'Leod, from Lyttelton, arrived in port yesterday afternoon, bringing 64 tons coal, 100 closes, and 3,000 palings. She left Lyttelton on Wednesday last. Had strong N.W. and southei ? y winds all the way. Was compelled to off Casile Point at 10 a.m. on Sunday, in consequence of a terrific southerly gale. Stood on again at 6 a.m. yesterday, and arrived here at 4 p.m.— The Columbia will sail for Poverty Bay and Auckland pn Thursday evening. The schooner Florence, for Mercury Bay, sailed last night, in ballast.

The mail steamer Nevada left Wellington for Napier at 6 o'clock this morning. Her arrival here may, therefore, he expected early to-morrow morning.

We learn that the launch of the new vessel on Messrs. Days, and Bristow's slip will take place to-morrow. The ship E. P. Bouverei, from London, arrived at Port Chalmers on the 22nd inst., after a passage of 101 days.
