Renner, left Auckland at midnight on Monday, 16th inst., and arrived at Poverty Bay at noon yesterday; left again at 3.30 p.m., and arrived here at 3 o'clock this morning. Experienced fine weather throughout the passage. She steamed hence for Wellington at 1.15 this afternoon.
The schooner Hero left Wairoa at 7 a.m. on Friday, and arrived at Mohaka at 2 a.m. on Saturday. L.eft again at 7 a.m, yesterday, had a light N.E wind, and arrived in port at 10 o'clock last pigbt. Cargo ; 6 tons firewood, 1 bale and 1 bag wool, and 20 kits kumeras. The mail steamer Nebraska, Captain Harding, arrived in port at 0.30 this -afternoon, having left Auckland at 10 p.m. on Tuesday. She steamed southwards at 1.20 p.m. The ketch Mary Ann Hudson sailed hence for Wairoa last night, with a gejieral cargo. The Auckland Evening Star, 16tb inst,, says : —The favorite steamer Hero again made her appearance in our waters yesterday morning after her long quarantine detention in Sydney. She has since received a thorough overhaul ard refit, and presents quite a smart appaarance. Every vessel in harbor was yesterday decked with bunting in honor of her appearance. A banquet to Capt. Logan will take place on Wednesday evening. Advices from New York to the sth August state that the steamer Dakota will proceed directly to San JYancidco instead of [Melbourne as before announced. Mr Webb was led to this owing to the news by the last mail, announcing the withdrawal of subsidies by one of the Colonies. The Pakota went on her trial trip on the Ist instant, and gave entire satisfaction, proving herself- a staunch and fast vessel. She is similar to the Nebraska in all respects, except in cabin accommodation, whjeh. are superior to ttttt. s&n,
