Private telegram? from Tauranga statethat the Ngaterangi tribe have held a meeting, at which the programme of' the Stafford Ministry,. s° &£ as it relates to native matters, was discussed.. General satisfaction with the same was ■ expressed. Waikato telegrams also* state the Hauhaus are satisfied with MrStafford's intended action. It is not true,, as reported, that Mr Vogel has been asked to join the Ministry. Mr Stafford never entertained* the idea of a coalition, and is not likely.to do so. PARLIAMENTARY INTELLIGENCE. The Public Revenues Bill has beem committed. The Telegraph Notices,, the Gold* and the Post Office Bills have been committed,, read a third time, and, passed. The Protection to Animals; and the Wellington Debts Amendment Bills have been, read a second time.. In the Legislative Council the hon. H. R. Russell has moved --" That any? further reports from the Commissioner under the Native Lands Fraud Prevent tion Act for the Province o£ Hawke'sBay, including his decision in theHeretaunga case,, be laid on. the tableof the Council." He also moved—- " That any papers or correspondence,, by telegraph or otherwise, between thelocal or the General Government in?. Hawke's Bay, or any other persons,, and the late Government,, relative tothe alleged excitement amongst, audi dangerous state of, the native population of that Province, on the subject of" their lands, during the last six. mouths, be laid on the table of the Council.'*' Both motions were agreed, to.
