A CORRECTION
TO THE EDITOR OP THE HAAVKE's BAY TIMES. S lßj —Will you kindly allow me room to contradict the purport of a paragraph in the Hawke's Bay Herald, of the Gth inst., in which it is stated that I am " to be assisted in the literary department of the Poverty Bay Standard by Mr Bom field " ? Of course I understand it in the sense that that gentleman is to he associated with me in moulding the editorial opinions, and so shaping the future of that paper : if so, it is incorrect. The columns of the Standard will be open to Mr Bousfield in common with all other contributors ; and if in that way I am to be " assisted " by him, I shall not deny to him what I concede to all as a right, subject to the usual latitudes and conditions. — Yours obediently, H. E. Webb, Sole Proprietor and Editor of the Poverty Bay Standard. Gisborne, August 14, 1872.
