FROM QREVILLE'S TELEGRAM COMPANY. WELLINGTON. Wednesday, August 7. The Licensing Bill was obstinately resisted Ja.<t night in committee. The first and second clauses and the first prohibitory clause were negatived. On the motion for the re-commitment of the Bill to-day Mr V r ogel moved as an amendment that the words " this day tsix months" be substituted; but his amendment was negatived. The debate on Mr Gillies' motion respecting defining the functions of Provinces was resumed. The resolution, after a long debate, was withdrawn.
