The brigantine Esther, Campbell, master, left Wellington on Monday. July 29, and arrived at Flat Point at 10 a.m. on the 30th ; left at 4 p.m. the same day, and arrived at Castle Point at 8 a.m. on the 31st; discharged cargo, and left at 5 p.m. the same day. Had light southerly and westerly winds up the coast, and arrived in Ahuriri roads at midnight on Saturday, entering the Iron Pot yesterday afternoon, She brought a considerable quantity of general cargo. The schooner Herald, Gardiner, master, left Wangapoa at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, 30th July, and had westerly winds to the East Cape, and southerly weather from thence to this port. Was off Portland Island at 5 p.m. on the 2nd inst., and ar rived here at 1 p.m. yesterday. Cargo : 35,000 feet timber, order. The schooner Laetitia, Ohlson, master, left Mercury Bay on Tuesday, July 30, and had squally weather to the East Cape, which was rounded at 4 p<ui, on the 31st. From thence, had a westerlywind to Table Cape, when it veered to S.W., blowing hard. Bore up for Happy Jack's for shelter, leaving there at II a.m. on Friday, and arriving here at 2 p,m. yesterday. Cargo;- 29,500 feet timber and 23,000 shingles. Imports having sjghted a schooner off Portland Island on Thursday, supposed to be the Jessie Nicol, from Lyttelton to Auckland ; also saw a schooner at anchor in Waipiro Pay. The N.&S.S, Co.'s s.s, Keera, Captain Andrews, arrived in port at 10 o'clock last night, from Manukau, Wanganui, and Wellington. She was the bearer of 100 tons geueral cargo and a large number of passengers.-: —The Keera leaves fur poverty Bay, Tauranga, and Auckland to morrow morning. The p.s. We are informed that the brigantine Hector, from this port, made an unusually Jong passage of 47 days to Warmambool (Victoria,] having met Jfitlu Ju succession of severe westerly; gales. She commenced loading with potatoes for Napier on the 17th ult., and would sail on the 20th.— Since the above information came to hand, J\lr Vautier has telegram stating that the Hector had arrived at Wellington, having been compelled to put in through stress of weather, and would sail for Napier this afternoon. The schooner Hero sailed hence on Saturday night, with a general cargo for Wairoa. The schooner Saucy Lass, from Auckland, arrived at Mercury Bay on the 29th July, and immediately commenced loading with timber for Napier. The s.s. Napier, from Poverty Bay, may now be hourly looked for. The s.s. Albion, with' the English Mail via Suez, arrived at the Bluff from Melbourne at. 2.15 p.m. on Saturday.
