The House has agreed to the- returns of" the immigration officers appointed, theofficial appointments, connected with the railway contracts, the money bor* rowed and actual works commenced,, and the amount of the balance. During the discussions which have taken place,, the Government gave way on, every point raised by their opponents ;, they have no- party. The Opposition. is numerically stronger than, the supporters of the but its component parts are not welded;, A great debate is expected to take place this, afternoon on a motion proposed by Mr. Gillies, asking the Government to brings down a measure, promised during Jast. se.-Mon of the Assembly, altering the constitution of the Provinces, and defin? ing their functions.
