FROM GREFILLE'S TELEGRAM COMPANY, Renter*3 Agents. AUCKLAND. Discovery of Alluvial Gold at Ohinemuri (Upper Thames.) Yield-Three Grains to the Dish, The Discoverer Claims' the Eeward. Saturday, June 22. A letter from Tauranga has been received which states that alluvial gold has been discovered on the eastern side of rbe Ohinemuri ranges. The stuff has been tested, and yields three grains to the dish. The letter adds that the discoverer proceeds to Auckland to claim the reward of £ 1,000 offered by the Government for the discovery of gold at the Upper Thames.
