GOLD AT TADPO.

The following telegram fromTanpo has been placed at our disposal by a gentleman in this town, and will be read with interest. The information may be relied upon as correct:—Two diggers,, sent on a prospecting expedition by Mr Gillies, Superintendent of Auckland, are now at Taupo. The natives are holding a meeting at Orunnui (about ten miles beyond Tapuaehanuu) to consider the propriety of piospecting towards Tnhua (on the western shore of the Taupo Capt. Morrison, A.C., says that they have found specks of gold in several dishes of dirt obtained bei ween Tuhua and the Lake.
