Dempsev was chaiged under the Police Act with ill-treating a certain i orse, by driving jt while it was suffering from a very sore shoulder, and was therefore unfit for woik. Information dismissed, the local Act not applying. The Resident Magistrate said he would repiesent the deficiency in the Act to the Superintendent. Spiers and another v. Schultze —His Worship gave judgment in this case. Sehultze's lettei, in his opinion, was not a binding contract, being deficient in certain material particulars, and this alone was sufficient reason for a nonsuit. The letter written by the plaintiffs contained a material misrepresentation, but as they appeared to have been mi-led by defendant's letter, }\e would not grant costs —Nonsuit, without costs. Collins v, Routledge. -r-Olaim of =£27, wages as bandmaster to the N.V.A.B.—Nonsuited, defendant not being liable. Routledge v.
