Holmes, left Auckland at 6 30 on Saturday evening, 20fch inst.; rounded the East Cape at 11 pm. on the 21st; passed Portland Island at 1 p.m. yesterday, and anchored in the roadstead at 7 o'clock last evening, entering the Iron Pot at 4 o'clock this morning. Experienced variable ■weather throughout. She was the bearer of 30 tons general cargo and several passengers. Since her last trip the Star has been laid up at Auckland, receiving a thorough overhaul, p,nd being fitted with a new four-bladed propeller. —The Star will steam for the Thames and Auckland at 4 p.m. to-morrow. TheN.Z.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Rangatira, Capt. Rentier, steamed for Poverty Bay, Tauranga, and Auckland, at 5 o'clock this afternoon, with 181< sheep, 20 boxes soap, 20 boxes candle*, 5 qr-casks whale oil, and sundry other cargo ; also several passengers. The s.s. Napier may now be hourly expected to arrive from Auckland via Poverty Bay. The ketoh Glimpse sailed hence for Wellington via the coast this afternoon. The barque Coronella was loading at London for Auckland and Napier on Feb. 23.
