Both our JopaJ. contemporaries have contradicted the rqiuor which we made public ou Thursday. Neither contrafiction is direct or satisfactory, aud the two are remarkably inconsistent. than the othev. We are inclined to think that there is, or was, more foundation for the report than the Government are willing to admit. We agree with the Herald that it is Mr Brogden's interest not to quarrel with tlio Government; but we can understand his patience well-nigh giving way at the delay which ha* takeu place.
