The light will be about ?7 feet above high water, and should be visible, in clear weather, about 9 nautipal miles, allowing 10 feet for the height of the observer's eye. fhe Pania Rock is in the centre pf the southwestern fed light, whiph will be seen one quarter of a mile Jnauiipal) op paoh side of the rock. Vessels approaching frpm'thp pprtbward should keep in the white light. Mastprs qf vesspjs coming from the southward will find this light no guide for theibjiuid must use allprejautioiis as heretofore to ayoid the rocky patch called vhe Auckland Rock, which has only 14 feet on some Eirtions pf it at low water springs. This patph exnds at least one cable to the southward of the black puoy which is moored off the northern edge of the patch, and which lies in 5f fathoms at low water springs. All bearings are magnetic.
