Pn and after the Ist day of jlujy, }B7J, a fixed Red and White Light will be exhibited frpm a mast on the western extremity of the Easjern Spit, Port Ahuriri, and wil} be seen on the following bearings from seaM FrpmS.E.byS. to S. by E.fE. White ... From S. by E.fE. to S.W. by S.£S. Red. EromS.W.byS.fS. tpS.W.|S. * The light will be abput 27 feet abpve high wafer, and should be visible, in clear weather, ahput $ nautipal miles, allowing 10 feet for the heigjit of the observer's eye. The Pania Rock is in the centre of the sp,uth-western ted light, which will be seen one quarter of a mile (nautical) on each side of the ropk. Vessels approaching from the northward should jceep in the white light. Masters pf yessels ppming from the southward will find this light np guide fpr them, and must use all precautions as heretpfore to ayoid the rpeky patch called whe Auckland B.oc|c, which has only 14 feet on some portions pf it at lpw water springs. This patch expends at least R n P pable tp the southward of the bjack PVfpy which is moored ojf the northern edge of the pafch, apd which lies in, 5# fathpms at lpw water springs. All bearings are magnetic.
