Punctually to her advertised hour, the favorite stealer Star of the South, Captain F. ijolmes, took her departure for Auckland at 6 o'clock last evening, conveying 1000 sheep, and some passengers. The brigantine Amherst is now berthed alongside the outer wharf, discharging her pargo of coal. She was brought inside last evening, having been towed over the bar by the a.B. Napier. Wp regret to learn, from a telegram in the Herald, that the fine schooner Onehunga was totally wrecked at Oamaru on the 24ch inst., during a strong N.E. breeze. "Fortunately, fl.ll hands were saved. The vessel was insured for £6OQ. No blame is attributed to Captain Crouch for the disaster. The hull has been pold, and realised £llO. Should the p.s. Nebraska, with the European and American mails via San Francisco, have arrived at Auckland on her due date, her appearance in these waters may be looked for about the 29th inst. The probable date of the s.s. Rangatira's departure hence for Wellington and Southern Ports has been altered from to-morrow to Thursday next, 28 th inst This steamer }eft Wellington for Napier at 12.30 this afternoon. The brigantine Enterprise will probably sail for Wellington to-morrow morning, with 48 bales wool and 190 bags grass seed. The schooner Hero sailed for Wairoa last pighfc, with a general c irgo. The s.s. Napier took her departure at noon to-day, for Blackhead and Cape Turnngain, With 10 tons wire and 30 tons station stores. The United States sloop of war St. Mary's left Auckland on the 16th inst., bound for South America. The ship Naomi left London for Auckland pn the 16th Nov., not 20th Oct., as stated in these columns yesterday.
