Alexandra, November 27.—The Rangoon, in leaving Galle harbor for Aus-

tralia, on the evening of the Ist Nov., struck on a rock and foundered at midnight in the roads outside in fifteen fathoms of water. The passengers, and thirteen mail bags from China, India, and Ceylon, were saved. The vessel was in the pilot's charge The wreck is recoverable- All the officers of tho Rangoon are detained at Galle, pending enquiry.
