Hero, sphqoner, for Wairoa, to-night Napier, s.s., for Mahia and Poverty Bay, on Saturday night Keera, s.s., for Poverty Bay, Tauranga, and Auckland, on Monday next The s s. Napier, Capt. Bendall, left this port at 9 p.m. oh Friday last, with a general cargo and 14 passengers. Arrived at Wangawehi at 6 a.m. the day ; landed cargo, and at 8 a.m. proceeded to Poverty Bay, arriving there at 11.15 a.m. Experienced fine weather on the passage up. Left Poverty Bay at 11 p.m. on Sunday, 19th inst, and arrived at Wangawehi at 3.30 am. on Monday ? 2Qth inst., having experienced a strong southerly wind, attended with rain. Shipped 90 bales wool, and left for Napier at 4.30 p.m. the same day ; fine weather, and arrived here at 1 o'clock this morning. The schooner Janet Ramsay, Capt. Falponer, from Auckland via Mercury Bay, ar rived in port at 10 o'clock this forenoon. She Jeft Morcury Bay on the 16th inst., and had a fresh westerly wind to the East Cape, which was rounded the next day. Had light winds from the northward until the 18th inst., when a strong westerly gale springing up, had to peek shelter at Wangawehi until yesterday morning, when she resumed her voyage, arriving here as above. She brings a cargo of 50 tons firewood. The s.s. Star of the South was at anchor in Hicks' Bay when the Janet Ramsay passed on she 17th inst. The s.s. Maori, from this port, arrived at Wellington at 9 o'clock last night. The schooner Saucy Lass may be expected $p arrive here in a few days from A-ucklarid via Mercury Bay, with a cargo of timber. Tb,e p e. Luna steamed for Wellington at 2 p'clock this afternoon. The brigantine Gem was at Mercury Bay on the 16th inst., loading with timber for Ho bart Town.
THE KEEBA.—A STORMY PASSAGE. The B.s. Keera left Auckland at 430 p.m. pu the 7th November; arrived off Napier on |be 9th ; went inside the Iron Pot the next morning at 4 o'clock ; discharged and took in pargo, arid left again for Wellington at 5 p m. phe same day (10th), with strong wind from the southward; at 630 a.m. on the 11th passed Cape Turnagain 5 at 7 a.m. the wind Shifted suddenly into S.E., and came on to blow a terrifip gale, accompanied with heavy pea, rain, hail, lightning, and thunder, wore jjhip to the eastward; eaged the engines, and set reefed main topsail, the ship laboring heavily, and takjng a quantity of water on poard; at 3.30 a.m. oh the 12(;h shipped a heavy sea, and washed the depk-house awaj ; at 7 a.m. the rigging came down about eight inches on the foremast, the mast working about six feet each way j managed to get up a hawser and saved the mast; at 630 p-m. the wind moderated, and the ship proceeded on jier course, with a yery heavy head sea and gtrong wind $ at 3 p.m. on the 13th passed pastle Point, with strong wind and sea from southward tf> Cape Palliser, and from thence light wjnd to Wellington, where she arrived pn the afternppn oi the 14th. She left again on the 15th for Ljttelton and Dune Jin.
