AUCKLAND LITE STOCK jMARKET. (Reports to Oct. 28.) [MESSRS. HUNTER AND NOiLAN.] Cattle : There has been a good supply of all descriptions. Dairy and dry .cows have been dull of sale, and stores were nob quite so firm ; but really wellbred stock command attention at full rates. Fat beasts in prime condition maintained last week's prices, but those of inferior description were not so well competed for. We sold dairy co\*s, from £5 12s 6d to £8 ss; dry cows, £3 to £5 12s 6d ; two-year-old steers, <£4 to £4: 15s; three-year-old steers, £5 to .£7 7s 6d ; calves and yearlings, £1 10s to £2 15s. Sheep : There has been a full market of fat (shorn) sheep, which were of very good quality, very few store offering. Fat lambs, as the season advances, are brought forward in large numbers. Those penned on Tuesday, being of good size, were well .competed for and sold high. Fat sheep sold from 12s to 23s 6d ; fat lambs, from 9s 6d to 14s 6d ; ewes, in low condition, with lamb*, 17s each. Pigs : More than the average num ber were penned and sold on Tuesday. Being of small size and well-fatted, competition was good :uid prices advanced.
