Holmes, from Auckland, brought up in the roadstead last night about 10 o'clock. She ,was the bearer of about 20 tons general cargo .and several passengers. The Star left Auckland at 6 p.m. on Monday last, 30th ulfc, with )ight southerly wind j rounded Cape Colville at 11 p.m. Had S."Vf. wind from that time till noon on Tuesday, when it veered to the /eastward. Rounded the East Cape at 1 a.m. yesterday, passed Portland Island at 4.30 p.m., £nd arrived here as above. Reports having, off Portland Island, sighted tue s.s. City of Adelaide, from Auckland, bound to Wellington. The Colonial Government p.s. Luna may be expected to arrive in port to-night, having left Wellington at 9 30 last evening. The schooner Hero was taken off Mr Days' Blip yesterday morning, having received a jthorough overhaul. The cutter Greenwich will probably sail for Moeangiangi to morrow morning, with a miscellaneous Cargo.

AUCKLAND SHIPPINQ. The schooner Saucy Lass left Auckland for Napier via Mercury Bay on the 26th October. At the latter port she would load with 15,000 jFeet timber and 82,000 shingles. The e.g. Go-ahead, from Waitara, arrived in the Manukau on the 2Qth ult., and the .steamers St. Kilda and Wanganui, from Wanganui, arrived at the same place on the 30th. All three vessels were loaded with sheep, cattle, horses, &c. The e.B. Keera, having arrived at Auckland from Napier, was to leave for the liay of Islands on Monday evening.

The s.s. Hero is expected to arrive at Auckland from Sydney on the 7th inst. The s.s. City of Adelaide, from Sydney, arrived at Auckland on the 27th ult, and left again for Sydney via Wellington on the slst. The barque Bella Mary, from Hobart Town, arriyed at Auckland on the 2(>th ult., wilh a t cargo of Tasmanian produce. The ghip Beth Shan, for London, left Auckland on the 24th ult., with a cargo of pottqn, gum, flax, &c, valued at £20.289. The barque Alice, from Lyftelton, with a pargo of breadstuff's, arrived at Auckland on the 26th ult. '

Total Wreck of the Leonidas —Naebow Escape oe the Cbew. —By the arrival of the Comerang, we (New Zealand Herald, October 23) regret to learn of the total loss of the schooner Leonidas, the property of Captain Norris, of the Bay of Islands. The schooner left Auckland during the last week in September, having on board a full cargo of g ueral Merchandise, &c, for Mr M'Math, who is about to commence business at Wangape. We have received the following particulars from pur correspondent at Rusreli : —"The prew of l\\e schponer Leonidas has arrived berp ; the vessel if a total wreck at Wangape. It appears that she had passed the greater part of dangers, when, owing to the swell inpleasing with the flood tide, slie was swept on to a very high. VQckj point, where, Jf it had not been for the great assistance rendered by the natives, not a soul cojild have been saved. The vessel was all in pieces two or three hours Jiouys after the prew had left her. An enquiry svas held by Mr Von Stumier, \he officer in charge of pustoms, Hokiahga, bijt'l have not heard the "result."
