AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET. (Reporjts tq Oct. 21.) [MESSRS. HUNTER AND NOLAN.] Cattle : The supply has been large, particularly of stores. There is no alteration in the value of dairy stock worthy of note. The demand for wellbred grown steers, fit for the grazier, continues unabated, but coarse animals are scarcely in such request. Other descriptions of store stock remain unaltered in value. The fat beasts have, as a rule, not been sufficiently prime, and were consequently looked i.pon with disfavor, but top sorts were keenly competed for, and realized about 35. s the lOOlbs; second quality, from 27s 6d to 30s; one and a-lialf year old steers, ,£3 6s to £i ss; two year old, M 12s 6d to £5 7s 6d ; three year old, from £5 15s (q «£Q 15s; four year old, fit for workeis, from 48 to ,£8 12s §(1; dairy cow*, from <£6 to £9 lQs each. Sheep ; There was again a short muster, with a brisk demand for all descriptions. The supply of stores is quite insufficient for pressing wants, and in many instances graziers have been obliged to substitute caitle to keep the grass down. Fat are coming forward in insufficient numbers, and prices uile high. We sold fat (shorn) from 15s 6d to 21s 6d ; stores (in wool) 12s to 15s 6d ; aged ewes, with lambs, from 18s 9d to 21s the couple; fat lambs, from 9s 6d to 14s 9d each. Pigs ; But few penned ; prices with an upward tendency.
