Tns brig Magpie, Capt. Arnold, left Newcastle pn the 3'Jth Sept., and experienced strong S.W. gales with yevy high sas for the most part of the passage to the North Gape, which was made on tho 10ih inst. Experienced strong south rly weather till off the East Cape, which was passed on the 12th inst. From thence, had light variible winds till arrival here yesterday afternoon. The Msggie lia3 thus accomplished the passage from Napier to Newcastle and in 37 days, although, during the voyage heroe, she was disabled by the loss of her bowsprit. She is at present at anchor in the roadstead, and wiil ba brought into the Iron Pot as soon as she has teen sttf ficLntly lightened. tons coke, 120 pairs naves, and L,030 felloes. The s.s. E>cra, Capt. Carey, left Dunedin wharf at midnight on the LOth inst.; at 2 a.m. took the ground at the fi.'st beacon ; at noon pn the 11th, vess-.d floated off. and proceeded .clown the harbor ; cleared tlis heads at 3 p m., and arrived at Lyttelton at 3.30 p in. on the 12th inst. j left Lyttelton at 10 p.m. the same clay, and arrived at Wellington at 4.30 a.m. on the 14th inst. j left Wellington at 8.15 p.m. the same day ; called in at Pourerere at 4 p.m. yesterday to land a passenger (Air Nairn) ; a r j?ived here at 11.30 last night,'»nd entered the Iron Pot at 730 this morning. During the passage from Lyttelton to Wellington, experienced some heavy weather, principally from N. to N.N.W.; at 4 p.m. on the 13th parried away fore and main gaifs and spMt her mainsail.—The Keera leaves for Sfahia, Tauranga, and Auckland at 7 o'clock to-night. The schooner Janet Ramsay look her departure for Auckland yesterday forenoon, with a cargo of potatoes. Tho s.s. Napier steamed hence about 8.30 |ast night, for Poverty Bay and Auckland, with a general cargo and several passengers.
