Late Auckland papers report an accident which occurred at the Tairua Saw-mills on the 28th Sept., by which Mr Charles Sanderson, U.E., lost his life. Mr Sanderson, it appears, was in charge of the works, and was making an examination ot the machinery about '8 o'clock in the morning, when by some means or other he was drawn into it and fearfully injured, his arms and legs being instantly broken. The machinery was immediately stopped, and every assistance rendered to the unfortunate gentleman, but without avail, for lie died about 12 o'clock, four hours after the accident. Unfortunately, there was no medical man in the locality, or it is possible that he might have survived his terrible injuries. He was interred on the following day. $b inquest was held on the body. Mr Sanderson was well known in Auckland, having pursued his profession for many years .in that city. He leaves a wife and femily to mourn his loss.
