The Rev. A. Shepherd will (D.V.) hold Divine Sen ice at the Tort Church to-morrow evening, at 7 o'clock, The English Mail via Suez arrived at Hokitika at 6 p.m. yesterday, by the s.s. Tararua, from Melbourne. The s.s. Napier, from Auckland via Poverty Bay, and the s.s, Star of the South, from Auckland, may both be expected to put in an appearance tomorrow. We learn that the p.s. Luna may be hourly expected to arrive here from the East Coast, and that she will steam for Wellington to-morrow, J. D. Ormond, issq, M.HR., accompanied by Major Green, will, we believe, leave Napier by this opportunity. We hear that a rifle match is on the tapis, io take place on Friday next, 13th insh, between seven of the mem hers of 'he Napier Rifle Volunteer Band (from whom the challenge emanated), and seven of the members of the same company. The following is, we believe, a correct list of the competing members :— Band : Oapt. Robinson (as President of the Band), Messrs Mcllioy, Sellars, Yuile, Murphy, Chicken (2). Company : Ensign Close, Messrs Stubbs, Blake, Spiller, Renouf, Fielder, and Boyd. The ranges will be 400, 500, and 600 yards.
