WELLINGTON.
Monday, October 2. Mathias Block, alias Julius Simon, alias William Brown, was arretted today, on a telegram from Dunedin, accusing him of fraudulent bankruptcy for £12.000, and also of felony in Tasmania. Mr Shepherd, coach proprietor of the line between Wanganui and Taranaki died today through injuries received in a recent accident. A. Fancy Bazaar was opened to day in aid of the Roman Catholic Orphan age. Tt was a great success. Ilastwell's mail coach, on going from Wellington to Wairarapa, tumbled over a precipice on the Bimutaka. The coach was destroyed. No people or horses were hurt,
