Capt. M'Xen.zie reports of the passage : Left Auckland on and arrived at Mercury Bay the next day. Took in cargo, and left for Napier on Saturday, 23rd inst. Had westerly wind to the East Cape, which was rounded on Sunday afternoon.' That night got the wind from the southward. Next morning wind veered to the northward, and continued so until arrival in the roadstead at 3 o'clock this morning; entered the Iron Pot at'l p.m. The schooner Hero, in ballast, arrived in harbor at 2.30 this afternoon, having left -Wairoa at 10 o'clock this morning. Had N.E. wind all the way. The Mary Ann Hudson and the Midlothian were at Wairoa when the Hero left. The schooner Saucy Lass, from Auckland, arrived at Mercury Bay on Thursday, and waß to have sailed for this port with a full cargo of timber on Saturday afternoon. The brigantine Amherst left port at 3 o'clock this morning for Newcastle, N.S.W., in ballast.
