AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET. (Reports to jSept. 15.) [MESSRS. HUNTER AND NOLAN.] Cattle : The supply has been rather limited, but there has been considerable animation in the market. Prices for dairy stock still rules low. Grown steers are much enquired for t?y the zruziers, and fat stocks have an upward tendency. The stock ex St. Kilda, owing to a rough passage, did not show to the same advantage as they would otherwise have done, but being thick fat, wore well competed for, and varied from 30s to 35s per lOOlbs. Dairy cows, from £6 2s 6d to £8 2s 6d ; two yearold steers, from £4 2s 6d to £5 5s each. She.p were penned in moderate numbers, and were eagarly bought by tho butchers. Those ex Wanganui sold at from 23s to 27s 6d per head. Provincial, from 22s to 2is 6d. Pi<*s were yarded in increased numbers, and sold readily at advanced rates, especially for those of good quality.
