Letters received in Dunedin by the last English mail states that Dr. Jermer has relinquished all claims to the Bishopric of D'uiedin. It is rumored that Sir Hercules Robinson, Governor of Ceylon, will get the Governorship of Victoria or New South Wales. Great convenience to railway passengers is the lecent invention of a dial plate in the interior of each car, the hand of which points to the name of the depot the train is arriving at. They are worked by the conductor or brakeihen simultaneously, and a bell at 1 ached to each instrument ring* to call passengers' attention.
