A most remarkable instance of the intervention of Providence is given in the Pleasant Creek News :—On Tues day last, a man named Thompson, while at his tent door, Moyston, observed a boy about seven years old passing towards the common school, and in a few minutes after this an irresistible conviction seized him that the boy he had lately seen was drowning in an adjacent creek. So unable was he to resist this impression, that r.e ran with all his speed to the spot presented to his mind, when, sure enough, he beheld the disappearing body just below the surface ot the water. In an instant he plunged forward and grasped the nearly lifeless body of the child, who had evidently been struggling for some time, and in a few seconds more would have passed into the spirit, world.. The child is a son of Mrs Thomas Parker, and under the attention and restoratives applied was soon restored to his grateful parent. Thompson feels proud that he was used by the hands of Providence in thus preserving a life, He says his mind was engaged with other matters when the scene portrayed presented itself, which when concluded seemed to Jiini like a dream. * ECEIPT and DELIVERY j BOQI£S on sale at the office of sis paper.
