A telegram from Tamworth, N.S.W., dated 9th August, says ? The river has overflowed at the bridge, and the lower end of the town is submerged. The Cockburn River and Goonoo Goonoo Creek came down in torrents. Such an overflow of water in the low lands at Neniingha Flat and the Peel Company's Estate has not been witnessed since the flood of 1864. Mr Thorn, the mate of the schooner Agnes Jessie, was washed overboard and drowned when the vessel vas voyaging between Launceston and Newcastle on the 11th instant. He was a native i»f Hobart Town, and had been long connected with the shipping pf "Jasmania.
