Lura left Wellington for this port a* | 1.15 pm. yesterday, but there was no appear I ance of her up to the time we went to pres 8 jtbis evening. The schooner Hero, Campbell, master, left this port at 10 p.m. on Wednesday last, 16th mst, and arrived at Wairoa at noon the next da}'. Lischarged and took in cargo, and left for Napier again at 2 p.m. yesterday. Experienced N.E. wind d-.;wn the coast, and arrived here at 10 o'clock last night. Cargo : 7 bales wool. 2 bales flax, 1 bdl. skins, 7 empty casks, and 40 kits kumeras and taro. The schooner Saucy Lass, M'Gregor, master, from Mercury Bay, arrived in port at 1 p.m. to-day. She brings a cargo of sawn timber, &c, consigned to Mr J H. Vaulier. The s.s. LorJ Ashley st a ned hence at 8.30 last night, for Tauraxga and Auckland, with 20 boxes soap and 8 bags maltThe schooner Lcetitia, from Mercury Bay, with a cargo of timber, consigned to Mr. J. LeQuesne, may be daily expected to arrive here. We are informed that the schooner Midlothian, from Dunedin via Oamaru, may be shortly expected to arrive here with a general cargo consigned to Messrs Robjohns & Co. The s,s. Wonga Wonga occupied 37 days 5 hours on her last passage from Sydney to San Francisco via Eijis and Honolulu. She left again on the 18th July for Honolulu. Several passengers have published in San Erancisco letters complaining of the accommodation afforded to them on board that vessel.
