A cake of retorted gold, weigbiDg 1,794 ounces, was the produce of a recent crushing at Sandhurst. Mr G. Griffin, C. E., who has under* taken to raise Her Majesty's ship •' Capr tain," has been informed by the Admiralty that they will not interfere with or assist him in any arrangements he may make, but that they will, in the event of hia endeavors being successful,- pay salvage for the vessel.
