There were no cases at the Resident Magistrate's Court this morning. Mails for Southern Provinces, per .Nebraska, will close at the Spit office at 10 o'clock tonight. The English. Mails via Suez and California may both be expected to arrive here to-morrow. We have been requested to announce J hat the Rev. W. M'Gregor will (D. V.) conduct Divine service at the Port Church on Sunday next, at 7 p.m. In the District Court, this morning, John Moot house, charged with haying broken into the dwelling-house of the Rev. A. Shepherd, at Hayelock, with intent to commit a felony, was found guilty, and sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment with hard labor. It. unnecessary to go into the circumstances of the case, as the whole particulars appealed in our issue of the Ist inst.
