AUCKLAND.
Tuesday, July 11. The weather here has been very stormy, accompanied with terriHc squalls, during the last week. Two fatal accidents have occurred through drowning. Mr S. Locke arrived from Cambridge on Sunday last, fioin Napier, overland. He had an interview with the Ngatiraukawa tribe, at Te Whitu, on the sth and 6th inst. The load from Auckland to Napier is now open.
The Earl and Countess qi Bel more returned to Sydney by the as. Hero, on Saturday Jast. Mr Hoskins and Mips OolyiiLe, after a most successful season at the Thames, have returned to Auckland, and are now performing to crowded houses. All mining- stocks have still a downward tendency. Caledonians sold to day for £100; Thames, £22 • Tookey's, £2i; AlbuVnia, £8; Otagos, 555. The Alburaia completed a fortnight's crushing to-day, the result being 989 ounces. The following claims pay dividends to-morrow :—Caledonian, £6 ; Thames, 20s; Tokatea, ss. The total amount of gold from the Thames during the past month amounted to 34,600 ounces.
