The s.s. Star of the South, Captain Holmes, left Auckland on Saturday last, 24th instant, at 2.30 p.m., with light JST.W. wind. Passed Cape Colville at 7 p.m., and rounded the East Cape at 830 p.m. on Sunday. Head winds were experienced to Portland Island, which was passed at 2 p.m. yesterday. Fair wind from thence to port, arriving in the roadstead at 7.30 last evening. Entered the Iron Pot at 10 o'clock this forenoon. The mail steamer Nevada, Capt. Blethon, left Auckland at 1 p.m. on Sunday last, 25th inst., and arrived here at 9 45 last night, thus making the passage in 32f hours - the fastest passage on record betw. en the twjjfcorts. After landing mails, &c, she proceeded southwards at about 11.30 p.m. The s.s. Napier, Capt. Bendall, left Auckland on Saturday, 24th inst., at 10.15 a.m. Experienced fresh southerly winds and fine weather to the East Cape, which was rounded at 3 p.m. on 25th ins);. From thence to Tologa Bay, fresh head winds and sea, arriving there at 10.30 p.m. the same day. At daylight yesterday morning landed three passengers and about 3 tons cargo, leaving at 8 a.m. for Poverty Bay. Arrived there at 10.30 p.m.; Janded cargo and passengers, and left for Na pier at 11.30 p.m. Experienced strong N.E. tfind and thick dirty weather, and arrived in i!: <: * ron ot %-* 11«30 this forenoon.

We are glad to be able to report that the brig Zingara, hence on the 29th January with a cargo of wool, arrived at London on the 22nd April—thu9 making a rapid passage of 83 days.
