The Provincial Council have asked the General Assembly to sanction the construction of a Railway from Wellington to Masterton, from Wanganui to Marion, and from Wanganui to Wai totara, and, also, for tramways for the intermediate portions. The Superintendent is empowered to set aside lands for their construction and part payment. A. Bill has been introduced to enable the Superintendent to contract for the construction of the tramways. The Wanganui Free Masons' Grant Bill ha? parsed through all its stages. The Education Bill has passed through Committee. The third reading of the Education Bill and Highways Bill takes place on Tuesday next.
