We understand that the Colonial G-overnment steamer :Lut.a is under orders to proceed to Auckland, and that she will probably get awny to-night. The 3 8. Bangafira will steam for Wellingand the South this evening. We learn that the NZ.S.S. Go's tender for the conveyance of the European and American mails from the Manukau for Taranaki> Nelson, Picton, &c, has been accepted. It i=r stated that the s.s. Phosbe, having ceased running on the New Zealand coast owing to want of work, will probably be sent to Sydney to be sold. We have heard a report to the effeot that the favorite s.b. Wellington is ab>ut to be placed on the West Coast trade. We cannot say what truth there may be in this, but think it very probable. The Wellington Independent, 17th June, B ays;—The ship En land is jinde going an extensive overhaul, her top'sides being caulked, a portion of her deck renewed, and other repairs effected. Gapt. Harrington says that he can have the work done in Wellington as cheaply and as well as in London, and therefore to save time he is having everything done that the vessel requires.
