Chief Justice Arney raised a point of law which will materially affect the present and other cases under the Arms Act, viz, whether prisoner could be convicted under the indictment as the Amendment Act of 1866 had been, repealed, and no revival of that section of the Act of 1860 as it originally stood had taken place. Point reserved for decision at the next sitting of the Court of Appeal. The Caledonian Gold mining Com pany held a meeting on Saturday laso and declared a dividend of £l2 for the past fortnight. The total amount paid in. dividends by the above com pany since February last is .£3.43,200 The Thames Investment Company, have paid another dividend of £2 per share. The Thames news is very satisfaefactorv.

Caledonian shares are enquired for at £175 to .£177 10s; Tookey, £25 to £27 ; Thames, £57 ; Golden Calf, 45s ; Central Italy, 35s ; Una, 20s to 275.
