At a recent trial in Cork the Chief Baron, in adjourning the couit, ordered film jury "to be detained until Monday." In vain the jury declared they would remain to any hour of the night to finish the case. The Chief Baron was inexorable. The jury were forbidden to see their families, or to attend public worship. His lordship, Jipwever, allowed them to sign the pensus papers, on the ground that " that * ( vas a work of necessity."
