Friday, June 2. It is reported that Mr J. C. Brown and Dr Meiisries have joined the new Provincial Executive unofficiallv. J. Smythies' tender of 4-21,000 ha* been accented for the Chitha line of railway. This is £9,000 below what was estimated.
Nothing has been done in the Uni» verity Councils, pending the arrival of members in the Phcebe. The poms of difference betv een the two Councils are not wide, and there is good reasoa to belie\e that they will amalgamate. The ship Roslin Castle has arrived from London, having made the passage in 99 days. Flour saleable at £ls. Oats without improvement.
