Tuesday, May 30. John Stark, a fireman .employed at the Graving Dock, whilst returning to his work on Saturday night last, accidently tumbled from the top to the bottom of the. Dock, receiving..severe injuries through which he died yesterday. The Helenslee arrived from Glasgow yesterday. In the Provincial Council, Mr Reid moved an amendment to'the Addre-s in Reply, in whicli he asserts that no Ministry can be. satisfactory to the country and will not command the confidence of the Council who do not at once take steps to repeal the Hundreds Regulation Act. Mr Cargill the adjournment by treating it as a Government question, but the House refused to adjourn until it passed the amendment,. which was carried by 26 to 15. • Messrs " Reid, Cutten, Bathgate, and Bradshaw (or MervynJ are reported as likely to be members of the new Government, The steamer Tairoa ha* been wrecked on the Molyneux bar. The crew and the cargo were saved. The Mining Commission recommend the parsing of an enactment in the GeAssembly preventing the influx of Chinese. Reimie, tie informant in the Clyde gold robbery case, has received a free pardon.
