For ringworm, scald-head, scrofula, and diseases of the skin generally, there is no remedy to ho compared to it. Sore Throats, and Diphtheria.—in any of th« above diseases, iunne.nite and permanent relief is obtained by effectually rubbing this detergent ointment, twice a day, upon the neck, chest, and baek, It acts upon the very mainsprings of life; for through the glands pass a}i new matter required for the body's reparation and ail old parlieles detrimental to its preservation. The ointment, used conjointly with Uoiloway's pills, wiltactsosearchingiy and certainlj as to effect cures, in the most hopeless cases. Rheumatism, Lumbago, Contracted and Stiff Joints —Many thousands of martyrs from the above comdi lints have found life almost insupportable ; yet it Holloway's ointment he briskly and persevering!}rubbed upon the partsatt'.cted, ease may be safely guarante-d, especially if the ports of tue skin be previously opene.. by fomentations with warm water. The gross" humors require expulsion from the system ; it i- therefore necessary to nave recourse to Holloway's admirablo pills, which, by purifying and strengthening the system, greatly assist the operation of the ointment and facilitate the cure.

It manifests a peculiar power in restraining infiUmmatim, removing stagnation, cooling the heated blood, and checking all crini mious and unhealthy discharges. Diseases attendant on Childhood.— Diseases incident to early lif'o fall more under the management of the mother t an the medical man. Hoiloway's ointment Bhould therefore be regarded by her a* a " household treasure," as it never fails iu bringing out the rash m measles and scarlatina: and for the removal of all skin diseases its effect jb marvellous. In cases of hooping-cough and croup, this invaluable ointment should be rubbed twice a day upon the throat and chest, and the youngest invalid will derive therefrom tbe most soothing relief.
