DUNEDIN.
Monday, May 15. The s.s. Nevada took her departure from Port Chalmers to-day, with 20 passengers for San Francisco. She was accompanied outside the harbor by several steamers filled with excursionists.
Judge Chapman has refused to grant a rule in the case of Regina v. Strode. A buggy accident occurred yesterday at Gieen Island. All the occupants—including the families of Mr Jones and Mr James Smith, solicitor—were seveiely injured. The s.s. Phoebe has been taken into the graving dock at Port Chalmers.
