Some genius has conceived the brilliant idea of pressing all the lawyers into military sen ice in case of war—because their charges are so great that no one could stand against them. A leakage having occurred in the hot springs of the King's bath at Bath, some excavations have been made in Abbey-place, with a view of discovering the cause. At a depth of 22ft. from the suiface two new springs have been discovered, yielding at least 20 gallons per minute, at, a temperature of 110 degrees. A number of Roman remains have also been found during the excavations, together with a flooring of lead half an inch in thickness, resting ? ipon concrete.
