Hawke's Bay Times. Nullius addictus jurare in verba magistri. MONDAY, MAY 8, 1871.
The English Mail via San Francisco came to hand yesterday, per Nevada. There was no business at the Resident Magistrate's Court this morning. Mr Warno's steam launch may be expected to arrive here by the Luna, due here to-morrow, from Auckland. The sittings of the Supreme Court commence to-morrow- at 10 a.m., and those of the Provincial Council at 3 p.m. A Congregational meeting will be held in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church this (Monday) evening, at half past 7. A complimentary luncheon was given to the officers of the ps. Nevada at Auckland on the oth inst. Archdeacon Williams is at Poveity Bay, and it is -aid will again take up his residence there.
A petition in favor of the Permissive Bill was, at latest dates, being taken round for signature in Wellington.
