Monday, May 8. Wheat is in fair supply at 2s. Flour, firm, £l3 to £l3 10s. Oats in good demand,. 5s 3d to 5s sd. Malting bar ley, 3s 6d to 4s ; inferior unsaleable. Kane was brouglit uj> this morning, and remanded till to-morrow. It is generally thought he will be convicted only of indecent assault, if at all. A Gold fields Circuit of the Supreme Oourt is to be established.
Warden Crompton reports an important discovery at Blue Spur, Otago. Troy having sunk to a bed of rock at 70 feet below present sluicing, discovered a level stratum of rich wash.
Dates from Fiji to the sth April. ISTews has ariived of the sequel of the Bailien murder. The dead body of Scott has been discovered not far from the scene ot the tragedy. It is supposed that Scott undressed immediately before committing the deed; and that after its commission, hastily taking up his clothes and revolver, made for the bush, and there shot himself in the under wood.

The late hurricane has caused great destruction. The schooners Mary and Christina Lnrline aie amongst the total wrecks. The Monatua was blown over at her anchorage—one man drowned. Curtis, a planter, has been drowned in the floods.
A large American vessel has been wrecked on the coast. Name unknown
