The schooner Hero, Campbell, master, from Wairoa, arrived in harbor about 7 o'clock last eveni'.g, bringing a purgo of flax and other produce ', also, eight passenger. She left Wairoa on Monday morning, and experienced such calm, weather that, in-order to make any heid way, tha "sweeps" had to bo resorted to part of the passage. The s.s. Lord Ashley, Captain Andrews, from the South, brought up in Ahuriri roadstead at 11 o'clock this iorenacm. She left Port Chalmers on Wednesday, 19th inst, at 10.30 a.m., with S.E. sea and heavy easterly eea. Arrived at Akaioa at 4 a.m. the next day, and sailed again at 6 a.m., with fine wea. ther and light westerly wind. Anchored at at 11 30 ti.m. the same day ; sailed again at. 4 p.m. o,n the 22nd inst, with light northerly wind, fine weather, arid smooth water. .Arrived at Wellington at 10.30 p.m. on Sunday, 23rd inst Left again at 10.45 a.m. vesterday ; rounded Cape Pailiser at 2.30 p.m., with light airs li'oni the northward ; passed I'lat Point at 8.15 p.m., with light W.N.W. wind and smooth water ; and arrived here as above.—.TJie Ashley steamed northwards at 4 30 this afternoon.
