WRECK OF A FRENCH SHIP.
1,200 LIVES LOST, The following telegram has been published, dated Dover, 10th February : A. Cherbourg correspondent telegraphs to-day that a thick fog enveloped the coast on Wednesday, Bth February, and much Vain fell. The French Government transport Lecerf got on the tricks;at Cape Hogue, three leagites from Cherbourg, and was totally lost. One thousand and. eighty soldiers on board perished, and only ten of the crew of one hundred and fifty were saved. They say they cannot recollect how they got on shore, but they faintly remember clinging to some floating spars."
