NELSON.

Tuesday, April 25. The Provincial Council was opened this afternoon. His Honor 0. Curtis, Esq., in hisopeningSpeecli, congratulated the Council on its 'increased revenue. He recomnieniled the selling of land on deferred payments. He advocated the annexation of the Grey district, from Teremakau to Greymouth, to the Nelson Province.

His Honor stated that the following measures would be brought forward, viz i—Water Supply for the. Gold Fields, a Railway from Nelson to Foxhill, and up the Grey River tp- the Bru timer gold mines, also, terminal portions on the Nelson and Westport lines.
