We take the following from telegrams in the Auckland E'* ening Star, of the 13th inst. : Grahamstown, April 13, 2 p.m. The Caledonian have already lodged in the Bank of New Zealand about 5000 ounces, and another heavy retort is now on the fire. Moie specimens were brought up this morniog, and the mine is looking excellent. The Inverness have taken out a farther lot of rich specimens this morning from a new lode just opened. The Kuranui have come upon some very good stone to-day. The crushing is showing up well. Tookey and Inverness shares are much enquired for this morning, but there are not any in the market. The following transactions have been made this morning:— Caledonians, £lO6 10s to £107; Thames, ,£2O; Tookey, £8 to £8 ss; Inverness, 12s 6<l to 14s ; Pride of the Karaka, 3s 6d; Kuranui, <£3 to .£3 2s 6d. Thomas Hebram, a sawyer, had two of his fingers taken off with a circular saw this morning, At the Police Court this morning, a man named Edwin Lamb was sentenced to six months' imprisonment for stealing specimens from the Caledonian mine. Mr Rowe, the manager, identified the stone. SHARK MARKET. Mr J, Newman reports having sold to day (April 13) ;—Thames, «£l9 15s to .i'2o ; Tookey, £8 ; Belfast*, 37s 6d. Mi Saunders reports ; —Caledonians, sellers, .£107; Thames sellers, £2O. I have sold Bel fasts at 37s 6d ; Kuranui, £3 Is 6d ; Thames, £l9 17s 6d; Inverness, 12.- 6d.
